Canada’s Big Marijuana Companies Using Cheap Foreign Workers To Put Canadian Growers Out Of Business

I’ve been keeping an eye on job postings for within the Cannabis sector in Canada, and have noticed a common theme… cheap. Canada’s Licensed Producers want cheap workers, period.

After posting job ads for minimum wage positions, Canada’s big Cannabis producers are looking south to Mexico and other lower cost labor sources.

Pure Sunfarms Corp. in Delta, BC is looking for a Foreign Worker Coordinator, and all of Canada’s biggest LPs have advertised jobs around minimum wage (or less).

Every other jurisdiction to legalize Cannabis, has allowed existing black market producers to transition to the legal market, whereas Canada’s federal government is trying instead to force small Canadian growers out of business, by giving bankers and lawyers licenses to grow acres of Mexican tended weed and increasing the budget for sending the police with weapons to raid any dispensary selling craft Cannabis.
